HNF® is the result of processing certain forage crops such as lucerne (alfalfa), and selected grasses and crops such as timothy and whole oat plant via one of two Fiber Fresh proprietary processes we call Controlled Fermentation™ and Modified Bio Fermentation™. HNF® is exclusive to Fiber Fresh and contains levels of nutrients and energy unparalleled in any other equine forage-fibre in the world.
HNF® has the characteristics of fibre yet the energy of grain and features high levels of protein, calcium and amino acids, as well as vitamins (B, C, D, E and K). It is a safe, low GI supply of energy that will not heat horses.
Scientific research has identified five key findings that support the use of HNF® in equine feeding regimes. For more on these five key findings click here.
HNF® has a great taste and is extremely appetising for horses. The moist nature of HNF® avoids dust related problems and helps lubricate the throat, encouraging feed material to move through the large bowel, improving digestion for reduced risk of colic and other digestive disorders.
HNF® can reduce acidity in the hind-gut and provide a more favourable environment for digestion. Horses obtain more nutrients, get more energy from less feed, and retain more available energy for training and performance when fed HNF®.
